Three Reknown Kenyan Principals Involved in a Road Accident Dying on the Spot

Teaching fraternity in Laikipia and Nyeri county were left in mourning after losing three of its colleagues through a road accident that occurred along Solio area on the busy Nyeri-Nyahururu highway on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports by This is Laikipia, the three who were in the same vehicle were Thome Secondary School principal Mr. Irungu, Principal Karaba Secondary school Mr Mwathi and Mrs Mwathi headteacher Mariakani primary school.

The accident that claimed the life's of the three heads of institutions is said to have occurred after the car they were in experienced a tyre burst leading' the driver to sway off the road.

The vehicle being driven by Mr. Mwanthi is said to have veered to the other lane of the road when it had a head-on-collision with another vehicle which was coming from Nyahururu leaving one dead and others injured.

Confirming the accident, Kieni West Sub-county Police commander Mohamed Ali said that they were traveling from Mweiga town heading to Nyahururu to attend to a function.

Mr. Mohamed as called upon the road users to be careful while using the long stretched highway to avoid being involved in accidents.

Two other people were rushed to Mary Immaculate Mission Hospital in Mweiga in critical condition.The wreckage was towed to Kiawara Police Station and the bodies to the mortuary at Nyeri County Referral Hospital.
