Drama ensued at the famous Kondele area after a man took to his heels minutes after he was found in possession of a fully loaded AK47.
According to sources the man yet to be identified toured one of the local guesthouses when all hell broke loose.
The area police boss said that they got wind of the incident after one of the lodging attendants who was searching the said man's bag discovered a metallic substance.
After a closer look the lady screamed out loud attracting the attention of some locals.
Police officers who toured the scene immediately managed to recover the AK47 that was fully loaded.
It was also discovered that the rogue thug was from the bandits infested Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Detectives are also piecing down evidence to help nab the suspect after some academic certificates were also recovered from his bag.
Lately, Elgeyo has been a hot bed of violence with bandits attacking and killing innocent locals at their own peril.
