A police officer who went missing a few days ago has been found dead. The body of the officer was found floating in a dam by farm workers on Friday.
According to the source, Gathatha Farm Manager Mr Onyango reported that at around 1 pm on Friday, workers spotted a floating body of a man in the farm's dam.
Officers visited the crime scene and found out that the floating body was of a police constable by the name Haron Stephen Kipkechem.
Haron Stephen Kipkechem was attached at Gathatha Patrol Base but had gone missing on 29 January 2021.
It all started when he failed to appear on work on 3 January 2021. However, he was made to reservice for the same day on 28 January, only for him to disappear from the station the following day.
It remains unknown whether the officer committed suicide or was murdered and dumped into the dam.
Police have since launched investigations to determine the cause of his death.
"However, the officer was reported missing from the post on 29th January 2021. deceased Body photographed, retrieve and removed from the dam and moved to Kenyatta University Mortuary pending an autopsy," read the report in part.
