Woman Stabs Husband To Death For Spending Sh100 Meant For Food To Buy Cigarettes

Police in Trans Nzoia have arrested an 29-year-old woman who killed her husband under unclear circumstances.

The suspect is said to have stabbed her spouse to death following a domestic dispute.

Reports indicate that the two engaged in a physical fight before the woman reportedly drew a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband.

The woman is said to have accused her husband of using money, Sh100, meant for food to buy cigarettes.

Following the disagreement, the suspect picked up a kitchen knife and tried to stab her child, but the husband blocked her. Unfortunately, she ended up stabbing him in the chest.

The victim was rushed to a nearby health facility where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The incident attracted the attention of neighbours who rushed to the homestead and attempted to lynch the woman. The woman escaped the lynching after a Nyumba Kumi leader visited the scene and rescued her.

Locals said the family had been having domestic feuds for long but lamented that what happened had left the whole village in shock.
