Highways That Will Attract a Toll Fee if The State Implement The Law Demanding Motorists to Pay.

The country is making steps towards increasing revenue collection. This is in a bid meant to cover the huge gap in each financial years budget. Motorists are now starting at a tough days ahead, this is after the state tabled rules which will give a go ahead towards collecting a toll fee from motorists using the following major highways.

The Thika Superhighway will be the first to be used for testing. Being the first Superhighway in the country it will be easier to establish the toll centres and Motorists will be issued with receipts for using the road.

The Mombasa road will also be greatly affected, being a gateway to the country from the coastal city of Mombasa, motorists will be required to make on spot or prior payments as they use the long highway.

Other highways will include the current under construction Kenol Marua road, Nairobi Nakuru highway the Eastern and Southern Bypass roads. Currently the only road gazzeted to attract toll fee is the under construction expressway and which is a public private partnership project.

The criteria to be used is to be formulated by the Kenha and the ministry incharge. What are your thoughts.
