Sadness Envelopes Family As Orie Rogo Manduli Burial Slated For October 2nd 2021

Former Chairperson of National Coordination Council of Non-governmental Organizations Mrs. Orie Rogo Manduli will be laid to rest at her Kitale home on Saturday 2nd October 2021.

Orie Rogo Manduli was beautiful, forthright and fashionable.

Bold to the extent of being termed arrogant Mary Orie Rogo thought outside her feminine body and excelled in fields traditionally reserved for men. She was for instance the first-ever black Kenyan female rally driver. Her feat of finishing the grueling East African Safari in 1974 with a female co-driver remains unequaled. She is also dubbed in politics and labor relations activities.

At the age of 16 and while in Secondary School she was crowned Miss Kenya an affirmation of her beauty that lasted to the end. Although she never stepped into a classroom she trained as a teacher at the Machakos Teachers Training College. She proceeded to Canada where she earned a diploma in Office Management.

She was married to Mr. Ondieki with whom they had three children Elizabeth, Allison, and Janice. They would divorce after only five years in marriage and she would remarry into fame and wealth.

Her husband who died in 2003 was businessman-cum-politician Norman Manduli who was a cousin to Zambian President Frederic Chiluba.

1974 East African Safari Rally.

On Wednesday, 15th of September the family spokesman Gor Semelang'o in the company of her daughters Elizabeth and Janice addressed the media and revealed that a requiem mass will be held on 28th September ahead of the burial which will take place on 2nd October at her farm in Kitale.

Orie Rogo Manduli died at her Riverside residence on Wednesday 8th September from undisclosed causes.
