RIP, Marasbit Leaders Condemn Kiling Of Police Officer Shot Dead In Fierce Attack By Borana Raiders

Marsabit leaders led by Governor Mohamud Ali have condemned the killing of a police officer by armed bandits.

The deceased was identified as Brain Leyian.

According to the police OB number 23/05/10/2022 filed yesterday at Marsabit Police station.

In the OB report, it was recorded that the officer succumbed to a gunshot wound inflicted on his forehead by the suspected Boraba raiders.

Preliminary investigations facts revealed that at around 8.00am on Wednesday morning, a group of police officers picked from Kenya police service, General Service Unit, RDU and QRU were sent on patrol at Qubi Karro area location reference AS550570.

Qubi Karro is located 30 kilometres away from Marsabit police station.

Here, the officers were ambushed by the suspected armed Borana raiders.

The armed assailants sprayed live bullets at the officers where two officers nursed gunshot injuries.

Police Constable Brain Leyian of service number 264582 was shot at the forehead and later succumbed to his injuries.

The second officer police Constable Jonathan Ngeno of Service number 234945 sustained gunshot wound on the left side of the chest and was admitted to Marsabit hospital for emergency treatment.

The process to transfer the body of the deceased to Marsabit Referral mortuary is ongoing.
