In the recent past members of the public have raised concerns over noise pollution in residential areas around Nairobi caused by bars and also churches. In a move the Governor released a list of bars will be shut down.
On Thursday Sakaja said he will not close down places of worship but urged religious leaders to be considerate and also follow the law.
“We are asking churches and mosques to be considerate, and we will have a discussion with them. There will be order, I will not close the churches. We want them to spread the gospel on obeying rules and regulations, However, I will initiate talks with them because we must be reasonable and accommodate each other in the city,” Sakaja said.
He also said before shutting down the clubs he had talk with club owners but they failed to follow the orders hence he will not go back on the Directives he gave and urged them to move on.
