Hundreds of Kenyans have been affected by prolonged droughts in the country. For about three months now, some areas have never seen showers of rain. Following reports from the Kenya Meteorological Department, this effect has been brought about by human activities such as deforestation, industrial effect, climatic changes among many other causes.
Reports indicates that, hundreds of livestock have starved due to lack of food and water to feed on. This has contributed to the high living standards that most Kenyans are in now, as livestock keeping is a source of income to many people.
Well, investigations done by the Kenya Meteorological Department shows that, some parts of the country are set to continue experiencing prolonged droughts until April. Places such as Turkana, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, Mombasa, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Lamu, Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River and Meru counties, are set to receive prolonged droughts.
Other regions such as western, nyanza, rift valley and Nairobi are set to receive rain as from early March. Meanwhile, let's pray for God to help us go through this situation.
