Bondo Sub-County deputy police commissioner Richard Karani said that the search on for remaining six is still ongoing.
The two victims were pulled out on Saturday morning according to Bondo Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner.
“It is unfortunate that we have retrieved two miners out. One was found dead while his colleague still alive,” he said.
This was confirmed through a Twitter post by Standard Digital.
"JUST IN: Two victims of collapsed goldmine in Abimbo Village, Siaya found after 3-day search; one confirmed dead and the other alive, six others yet to be traced."
The rescued miner was taken to Bondo sub county hospital for medical treatment and discharged.
“I want to applaud the rescuers for their joint effort, I am certain that the six remaining ones too will be retrieved out,” he said.
Local rescuers at the ill-fated shaft pumped oxygen into the collapsed goldmine in bid to save the lives of the remaining six miners.
This is after a total of ten miners were said to have been in the collapsed goldmine mine on Thursday afternoon.
