Sad news emerging from Kajiado County, where a family of five was burnt to death in a mysterious house fire under unclear circumstances.
The incident comes barely a day after a police officer based in Siaya County burned to death inside his house.
According to reports, the horrific incident, which happened in Mashuuru, Kajiado County, claimed the lives of a mother and her four children. The five family members were on the night of Thursday, September 2, burnt beyond recognition after a fire gutted down their house.
The police report indicates that their bodies retrieved were four females and one male although their identities could not be readily ascertained.
The County response team could not arrive on time with the neighbors who had tried to put off the fire but didn't succeed, blaming the County Government of Kajiado for not responding to fire emergencies with the seriousness it deserves, calling on Governor Joseph ole Lenku to fund and re-organize the fire department.
The matter is currently being investigated by the police as they try to unravel the cause behind this horrible incident.
