"Seeing my Mother Crying For Help Pains me" Youthful Man Seeks Help to Have Mother Ditch Chang'aa

A youthful man from Kiambu is calling upon well-wishers to step in and help his mother ditch a local brew called chang'aa.

Cyrus Mwaura, 27, who recently completed his diploma course at the Thika Technical Institute, has said her mother, Florance Nyambi Muthoni, is deeply rooted in chang'aa.

The man noted that through his High School education journey, he had to endure many challenges and sufferings because of what his mother was facing.

He narrated that his level of concentration in school dropped because of the challenges his mother was facing, which started from police officers arresting her when she was found selling chang'aa.

Even though the mother is no longer brewing and selling chang'aa, consuming the illicit substance has turned out to be her only business.

He said it has been so painful for him seeing his mother crying for help but he is not in a position to help her out

In a detailed interview by Thika Town Today, Cyrus is calling out for well-wishers to step in and help his mother getting lost into alcoholism.

On the other hand, his mother said she has been trying to ditch the vice but the stress that she faces on a daily basis forced her back into drinking.

She said her only source of happiness was her television set, but thugs broke into her house and stole it.

According to her, staying at the chang'aa dens until late is her only way of getting company.
