The officer identified as David Nduati is said to have committed the heinous act while he was on duty on Tuesday at 11 pm using his G3 rifle.
The two bodies of 30-year-old Joyce Mwende Ngui and that of her one-year-old son Raji Mwende were discovered at the officer's house.
According to reports from the occurrence book (OB), David surrendered his G3 rifle at the gate and told the officers that he had shot and killed someone.
The OB read in part“pc David had just surrendered his G3 rifle at the officers manning the prison gate and confessed to having murdered with the weapon and left before the officers proceeded to the crime scene which was David's house and found two lifeless bodies that of a woman and child and 6 spent cartridges,” it read.
Police further revealed that the deceased had arrived from her inlaws and was staying with David before they meet their cruel death.
Officers also indicated that they arrested David as he was trying to escape however the motive of the killing is yet to be established.
