The athletic fraternity has been thrust into deep mourning after Damaris Mutua's, 24, lifeless body was found in a room at Iten, Elgeyo Markwet county.

Reports have it that the young and promising lady was allegedly murdered by her Ethiopian boyfriend before fleeing the scene.
TUKO furthers notes that the boyfriend called one of her kin and informed him that the athlete's dead body.
"The boyfriend called her and she acceded to her advances. He killed her and immediately left the country. He used a different number to call the deceased's kin informing them of where the body was lying. The body has not been removed from the scene," someone told TUKO
Whether it was a relationship-related issue or not, it is yet to be established what might have transpired between the two as police launch investigations.
While reacting to the post, Kenyans have expressed their condolences with some asking the authorities to act with speed to ensure the culprit is brought to book.
