New Twist as Woman Found With Cocaine Worth Sh100million Reveals That The Drugs Belong To a Politician

Few days ago, Police in Mombasa arrested a 29-year-old woman on suspicion of drug-trafficking.

Cocaine worth Sh100 million was allegedly retrieved from the suspect’s house in Utange, Kisauni Sub-County.

Detectives acted on a tip-off that led them to the house where Nuru Murshid Mahfud was found in possession of the controlled substance which was conveniently packed in 35 sachets and hidden in a suitcase.

Nuru who appeared in Shanzu Court to take a plea revealed that the Sh100 million cocaine was not hers.

According to reports by People Daily Publication, Nuru through her Lawyer stated that the impounded drugs belonged to a politician. Her lawyer, who did not reveal the identity of the politician, said that the charges leveled against Nuru were politically instigated.

The lawyer further disclosed that Nuru is two months pregnant, and her continued detention will risk her life and that of the unborn child.

The samples of the substance were taken to the laboratory in Nairobi for forensic examination as Police continue to pursue the suspect’s accomplices.
