Edwin Nyakieyo, the deceased was allegedy clobbered by a group of assailants who then left him to die on the ground. This is after the area assistant chief accused the deceased of theft cornering and beating him to a pulp without listening to his side of the story.
Well wishers tried to rush the deceased to the Kisii Teaching and referral hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The residents at the crime of scene got furious and manaaged to get hold of the assistant chief.
According to the mother of the deceased, her son was innocent and didn't do anything wrong.
Confirming the incident is the Sub-County Police Commander, Samson Rukunga who said said they are still investigating the matter and that they will get to the root on the market.
