Residents of Githurai 45 in Nairobi have been left in shock after a young man was run over by a matatu while alighting from it along the busy Thika Superhighway.
James Ng'ang'a, the victim, was busy from his duties where he works as an interior designer and boarded a matatu registered under Lopha Travelers Sacco. On reaching his destination, the driver stopped at the middle of the busy road instead of stopping at the stage.
When Ng'ang'a was about to alight from the vehicle, the driver sped off making Ng'ang'a to fall on the road and the matatu ran over him.
Confirming the incident is the Kahawa Sukari Base Commander, Hondo Chacha who said that the driver of the vehicle and his conductor have been arrested for careless driving as investigation into the matter kicks off.
Ng'ang'a was rushed to the Thika Level V hospital where he is nursing injuries by passersby.
