Sad development as speeding matatu runs over a woman along Thika-Garissa Road, Kiambu County.
The 28-year-old woman was walking back home when he was run over and suatained serious injuries along the busy road at around 7.30pm on Wednesday evening.
The vehicle, a Toyota Nissan of registration number KCL 631A, belongs to 2Nk Sacco.
Thika Sub-County Police County police Commander Alfred Obayo who confirmed the incident said the matatu was trying to overtake another when it knocked the woman down before the driver sped off.
"The Nissan matatu then veered off the road and rolled several times, landing in a ditch. The victim was rushed to hospital using an army ambulance," Mr Alfred said.
The matatu wreckage was towed to Thika town Police Station for inspection.
Police have launched investigations into the matatu driver who is still at large.
The latest development comes only two days when three people lost their lives on the same spot in a head-on collision involving a Motorbike and Car.
