The Ministry of transport, Cabinet Secretary James Macharia has once again reiterated that the highway will be completed by the end of this year, to pave way for usage by Kenyans. The CS further added that it is expected to ease traffic flow on the Mlolongo A8 section and to eventually reduce travel time through Nairobi.
The project being done by the China Road Bridge Corporation (CRBC) linking the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Nairobi-Nakuru highway is already up running with visible millstones. This project will definitely be a revolutionary achievement by the government, transforming transportation in the city.
The Kenya Highway Authority (Kenha) has extended the closure of a portion of Uhuru Highway by 21 days. According to Kenha, the suspension, which began on April 30th, would last until May 20 due to the ongoing construction.
The segment between Bunyala roundabout and Nyayo Stadium will be affected by the 21-day traffic disturbance.
