31-year-old nurse found dead inside her house in Eastleigh

A 31-year-old nurse found dead inside her house in Eastleigh in Nairobi.

Esther Waceke Munyua, a medic attached to a hospital in Lang'ata is said took have lost her life by taking poisonous alcohol after a long battle with depression.

Police statement read that the deceased was found unresponsive inside her bedroom, with bottles of alcohol, medicines and a suicide letter written: DEPRESSION IS REAL.

The suicide note is being analysed by detectives. Police say the note talks about her life.

Her workmates described her as a brilliant professional who was also a top-performing medic.

Witnesses said they last saw her on Thursday driving back to her residential house in Eastleigh.

Autopsy on her body was set for Tuesday to establish the cause of her death.

Detectives attached drawn from Directorate of Criminal Investigations Office and her fellow doctors are investigating the matter, keen to establish what drove the deceased to allegedly end her life.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was transferred to the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
