Homicide incidents have been on the rise in a shocking trend in the country with couples killing each other over small differences in their unions.

Police in Nandi County have arrested a 59-year-old man, who killed his wife and buried her secretly following domestic wrangles.
Reports indicate that Naftali Avendi hit his 30-year-old wife with a blunt object and killed her on the spot at Kamoron village. He then dug a grave and buried her body.
Avendi's neighbours suspected that something unusual could have happened after the deceased went missing and on interrogation, he admitted that he killed and buried her privately.
After his arrest, the suspect took the police to the freshly dug grave within his compound.

Police said that they will seek orders from court so as to exhume the body.
Neigbours said that the couple had been living in persistent squabbles for a long time.
Over the past few years, there have been a rising concern over escalating cases of domestic violence. Couples are urged to seek guidance and counseling when faced with difficulties.
