This evening through the Nation news page, many people were able to get more information over the Mt Longonot fire tragedy which took place yesterday and continued to spread out more today on 29th.According to speculations, it is believed the fire is not as a results of forces of nature but due to negligence from hikers. According to some people, they believe someone might have been smoking and by mistake, the cigar felt down. This came to be concluded after some of the loyalists admitted that the mountain is not as clear as it was before since it's filled with a lot of trees.Although they tried to put off the fire, it seems their efforts are in vain since yesterday as it keeps spreading over to larger places. This might not only bring air pollution to those living around that area, but also to those animals whose home is being burned down.
Mt Longonot has been a tourist attraction for many tourist who come to visit the place to see buffaloes, lions, zebras, giraffe, leopards and elands. Well, looking at a bigger picture, this might affect those small businesses that always run during tourist visits round that place and more to the tourism industry too.
Meanwhile, mt Longonot locals have pleaded with the government to help in handling the situation as first as possible. This will help in reducing the number of animals that might choose to go in new homes thus helping them gain their jobs and businesses back.
