Never does a day go without hearing an incident involving police officers. On the Busy Thika Superhighway barricade, things seem to have taken a new turn. After the last one week was filled with commotion between the police and motorists. Now police have resulted to use of peaceful talks to make people understand the essence of the barrier.
According to one of the officers redirecting people on where to pass. The barrier is not meant for neighbors and who work in the neighboring plantation farms. But for people coming from far and who are likely to travel further to other counties. Motorists are the most affected as police are successfully convincing them on the importance of obeying the presidential order. This way they are easily turning back.
This has come as a relief to people and mostly pedestrians who had a tough time convincing police on why they had to walk daily past the barrier. The understanding between people and police easiens their work as neighbors are reporting foreign individuals among themselves. This is seen as the most effective way different from use of force which created friction, misunderstanding and a tensed atmosphere. Police all over the country should copy this to effectively succeed in the fight against covid 19.
