Police in Kilifi are investigating a case in which a 42 year old man was allegedly abducted.
Ibrahim Mohammed, an aspiring MCA has been missing for a week now.
His family says he was last seen in Mombasa. He left home in Kilifi on Thursday. The last time he spoke to his wife on Friday at 5PM. She got worried when he did not return home that evening at they had agreed.
She said while fighting back tears that the kids have been questioning her about their dad's whereabouts and she doesn't know what to tell them.
His friends claimed that his Facebook and WhatsApp have been active but messages and calls have gone unanswered. His elderly father's health has gotten worse since his mysterious disappearance.
The family reported the case at Kilifi police station but search efforts haven't bore any fruits.
According to human rights group Haki Africa, there has so far been 6 reported cases of people disappearing mysteriously in the coast region in the recent past. They pleaded with the government to ensure deep investigations into the worrying trend.
