The issue of police uniforms, which has been one of the concerns in the police service, has reportedly been addressed by a new order that the president of this nation, Dr. William Samoe Ruto, has issued to the national police force.
According to the People Daily newspaper, the head of state ordered the inspector general, Mr. Japheth Koome, and the other senior officers in NPS to see that the fee that police officers have been paying to acquire uniforms is removed while speaking in Nyeri county yesterday during the passout of the new police recruits in Kiganjo.

Ruto argued that rather than having to spend their own money to buy uniforms, police personnel should receive them for free. After Ruto issued this directive, it became abundantly evident that the police officers had been paying for the uniforms out of pocket even though they were provided free of charge.
