Police Storm Home of Assistant Chief, 42, Living With Missing High School Girl

Police on Saturday stormed home of a 42-year-old assistant chief living with missing high school girl in Ndeiya, Kiambu County.

The officers alongside the area chief were acting on a tip-off from the villagers who said the school girl has been staying with the suspect's for some days.

During the arrest, Firidah Muema, the officer In-Charge with the gender care desk attached to Tigoni police station, stated she was surprised by the ongoing rising cases of child defilement in the region.

“We've been registering almost two cases of defilement per week. It’s unfortunate that our people who should be protecting the girl child are now the ones letting us down,” Ms Muema said.

The hunt for the Nguirubi High School student had left many locals with surprise until friday when Leah Nguhi, the Ndeiya sub-chief, was tipped that the girl was spotted hiding inside the 42-year-old suspect's and notified the police.

Police officers attached to Ndeiya police post swang into action and stormed the assistant chief’s milk bar at Boma trading centre.

During the arrest, a story emerged that the secondary school girl went to Ndeiya dispensary to seek medical treatment.

Police traced her and nabbed the girl at the dispensary. The duo were moved to Ndeiya police post where police and the girl’s parents got the wind that was pregnant and had been going for a pre-natal check-up at the health facility.
