Residents of Garissa county are in shock after a police officer from masalani police station has stabbed his grace to death whereby he killed himself after the act.
The couple is said to have been engaged in an argument before the police officer killed his partner.
After stabbing his partner, the masalani police officer killed himself by blowing himself using a hand grenade.
“Chances were that the officer resorted to committing suicide out of desperation or regret after realizing that the lady had bled to death owing to the physical injuries. The officer had burns all over his body caused by shrapnel from the explosive.” said Ijara sub-county Police Commander William Oyugi.
The sub- county police commander also said that the couple had been in a rough relationship, earlier before the girlfriend had fled away with their kid due to infidelity.
However, the two bodies were taken to the Mwingi mortuary.
