Ministry of Roads and Transport led by Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has suspended the operations of Modern Coast Bus company as more details emerges.

The suspension come after Ministry received information from National Transport and safety Authority (NTSA) on the road crash involving a Model coast bus heading to Homa Bay from Mombasa on 28th Dec 2022.
The accident, which occurred at River Masosa at Mukutamo Junction in Kisii county, left one person dead and several were injured.
This also raised concerns about the state of operations and safety levels at the bus company coming just months after the River Nithi accident that occurred in July leaving 36 people dead and Many others injured.
Through the statement from Ministry of Roads has directed NTSA to suspend all operations of the modern coast bust company with immediate effect as investigations onto the accident continue.
