Reports of a nine-storey building that collapsed during the night emerged online evoking panic mood among residents and Kenyans.
According to reports, the building which was under construction was sited at a place known as OJ in Ruiru, Kiambu county. Sources have it that it collapsed in darkness at around 3 Am.
An eye witness revealed that an unusual sound like a bang was heard at around from outside and when people came out of their houses to check, they were surprised to see the building slowly coming down.
It is unclear whether few people were trapped inside, police officers and officers from the National Construction Authority(NCA) toured the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.
This comes barely months after another seven-storey building was demolished in the same county after showing signs of collapsing hence raising eyebrows about the integrity of the officers inspecting such projects.
Kenyans feel like officers from Kiambu county are not performing their duties and instead, they are just taking money from cartels hence risking the lives of innocent people.
