A 24-year-old University student has been hospitalised at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet County after he cut off his private parts.
Linus Kiplangat Rono, 24, reportedly cut off his genitals and three them away.
Kiplabotwo Chief Geoffrey Korir told told the press that Linus bled profusely after the cut, with his kins admitting him to the hospital for emergency treatment.
"His mother discovered that he had difficulty in walking and upon interrogation, he said that he had cut off his private organs," Korir told the press.
In a bizarre incident that left many villagers shaking their heads, the villagers elders led by Nyumba Kumi official condemned the incident.
Preliminary reports indicated that Linua is a popular drug addict in the viallge.
Police officers have launched investigations into the Thursday morning incident.
Plans are underway to help educate the youths against dangers of misusing drugs.
