Another 9 Storey Building Collapses In Ruiru

Today on Sunday 17 October, just some few months after the collapse of a seven storey building in Ruiru, another nine storey building has collapsed in Ruiru.

The building which was under construction collapsed this morning.(a site photo of the collapsed house)

Police at the scene have confirmed that the building was empty at the time it collapsed. There have no casualties reported since the building was empty.

Residents of Ruiru are now calling on the National Construction Authority to start rechecking the safety of rental buildings in the area.

It is a month ago when another building under construction collapsed in Ruiru killing and injuring the site construction workers. The same month another two buildings collapsed in Homabay and Kirinyaga.

Now the question remains, who is responsible for these several unfortunate situations? Has the National Construction Authority been sleeping on their duties?

What do you think is the reasons for the increased number of 'collapsing' houses. Leave a comment.
