Breakthrough as Police Arrest KK Security Guard Involved in Robbery of Sh2.3M From a Bank in Nakuru

Bank robberies are nothing to write home about. In fact, most of them end up in fatalities and monetary loss.

Police have arrested a KK Security guard following a robbery that saw Sh2.3 million looted from Prime Bank, Nakuru branch.

On the fateful day, the security guard, Tobias Juma, who was on duty, allegedly opened the main door of the bank for five armed robbers.

The five robbers forcefully entered the banking hall while armed with a homemade gun, hammer, knives and a machete. They then commandeered the members of staff to the toilets and locked them inside.

The thugs vandalised the drawers and took money estimated at Sh2.3 million.

Police launched a manhunt and arrested Juma at his hideout in Bumula, Bungoma County.

Detectives suspect the robbery to be an inside job as they continue to interrogate the security guard to help them pursue other robbers.

However, the police are not alone in the fight against such organized crimes. Members of the public too play a key role in helping to stop plans by those that intend to earn a paycheck through shortcuts.
