Today in the afternoon, reports have emerged that the president of the republic of Kenya, Dr William Samoe Ruto has landed on his Riftvalley backyard to preside over one event.
As reported by the hustler nation spokesperson, Mr Dennis Itumbi, the head of state has landed at Baragoi stadium in samburu county to launch the food distribution process and the livestock take-off programme. Ruto is said to be in company of the UNDP resident coordinator, Dr Stephen Jackson who said that the current drought being witnessed in Kenya is the worst drought ever witnessed in decades. Jackson went ahead to say that the United Nation through UND will continue standing with Kenya in fighting the effects of drought.
" It is NOT Kenya's fault that 4.5m people are hungry, there has been FIVE failed Rainy seasons, we will stand with Kenya," Said Dr Stephen Jackson. Earlier on, the head of state was in Turkana south constituency where he presided over the last event. On other hand, Mama Rachel Ruto and Dorcas Gachagua were in Kahawa where they launched the community feeding programme.
