James, an Akorino man met a non-akorino woman and married her after one month not knowing she had a baby back home.
He only came to realize it during a home visit but he could do nothing much about it because the lady was already pregnant with his baby and he was deeply in love with her.
The lady started normal antenatal clinics attendance.
However, during one visit, she took a HIV test and it was discovered she was HIV positive. The doctors said that it was a must for her husband to be tested.
James went and got tested but surprisingly turned out negative. Doctors explained that they were a discordant couple.
To keep the family together, both were kept on medication to protect him from infection.
James now lives in regrets for not taking a HIV test before marrying his wife. His wife has been fighting him and accusing him of infecting her with the virus.
Due to this difficulties in his marriage and regrets, James has over the years turned to smoking bhang and taking alcohol as a way of running away from his wife's frustrations.
He loves his wife so much and wishes she can accept her HIV status so that they can live peacefully.
