The number of deaths that were caused by a major cyclone that occurred early this week has increased as other 49 people are still missing, AFP News reports.
On Monday, India experienced a major cyclone, Cyclone Tauktae, which made its way through the Western coast of India causing a lot of destruction and loss of lives. So far, reports indicate that the number of deaths from this crisis has reached 91 as of Wednesday while other 49 people are still missing.
India's ministry of defence announced on Wednesday that Navy ships had already rescued over 600 people from the mess while the rescuing exercise is still ongoing.
It should be known that India is still in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which has ravaged the nation making it record over 300000 cases of the virus a day. Besides, the country has been recording around 4000 deaths a day, a situation experts have described as shocking and heartbreaking.
