Police in Bungoma are investigating an incident in which a truck driver was found dead inside his vehicle in Bungoma town.
The body was discovered at by his turn boy who was driving the truck. The driver was sleeping at the back of the driver
County health authorities took the body to Bungoma County Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, approximately one kilometre from the scene.
The turn boy said the driver complained of not feeling well and upon reaching Nakuru he decided to handover the steering to his conductor and went to sleep. Only for turn boy to discover he is dead on reaching Bungoma.
police commander David Kimeli confirmed the incident. County Health chief officer Dr Isaiah meri said samples have been picked from the body and have been taken to the Alupe Covid-19 Testing and Treatment Centre for analysis.
Omeri said the health department is keen on establishing whether the man died as a result of corona virus. He said the results of the tests will be released to the press.
