Silvanus Osoro, the Member of Parliament for South Mugirango constituency is the fifth child in a family of six children. His father was a highschool teacher while his mother was a nurse. His perfect world changed when both of his parents lost their lives in a span of four months. He experienced a difficult childhood due to living with different relatives. At one time, he ran away from home to go live in the streets.
He was lucky to complete his primary school education at Chemasingi Primary in Kericho. He was the best student in the division by scoring 406 out of 500 marks. While in highschool, he was in and out of school due to lack of fees. He later received a scholarship and was able to complete secondary school education at Hill Secondary School where he scored the grade B+.
He dismissed admission to Kenyatta University and chose to become a newspaper vendor in the morning and run a mtumba business in the evening. He then did CPA I and II from the money he gathered from his savings. He has worked as a merchandiser but he now has a company called Pitch Face Group Limited. He is married and has three sons. His ambition is to run for Kisii Governor in 2027 and for presidency in 2037.
The highly opinionated leader was arrested on Monday this week at Gusii stadium. According to the police, he had plans to disrupt the funeral service of former Cabinet Minister Simeon Nyachae. An interview with Gloria Orwoba, the Country Coordinator Global Youth Parliament for Kenya, at K24 This Morning pointed out that the arrests were illegal. She argued that the arrests were a plot to keep Deputy President Ruto's supporters out of the way. She said that there was no plan to disrupt the burial because the tangatanga team is a friend to the berieved family and that they even participated in the funeral planning process.
