Reports of one person who is feared dead while several others severely injured in a grisly accident emerged online leading to panic and a somber mood among Kenyans.
According to the reports, a bad accident occurred along Kamatira road in West Pokot which is believed to be a black spot for many accidents. The accident was involving a personal vehicle.
According to the source, an eyewitness revealed that the vehicle lost control for unknown reasons and veered off the road before rolling several times in a ditch.
Good samaritans rushed to the scene to rescue the victims, several passengers including a student from St. Elizabeth girls high school were pulled from the vehicle and rushed to Kapenguria hospital.
One person passed away on his way to the hospital, the body was taken to the morgue awaiting burial arrangements. Police officers were informed and toured the scene to investigate the cause of the accident. Drivers have been asked to go slow to avoid such accidents.
