Ministry of Health has issued out directives on bar closure, through the cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe the country is ordered to adjust to the new directives.
CS Mutahi Kagwe has authorized bars and restaurants to be closed at exactly 11:00 pm. He also said that health protocols such as sensitization and handwashing will be put in place.
CS Mutahi Kagwe's orders come a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted curfew restrictions national wide. His decision was responded to by excitement among Kenyans.
Since Curfew was restricted many businesses incurred losses such as hotels, transport, restaurants, and bars which depended on customers who could extend to nights.
Kenyans are hoping for the best and the rise of the economy after facing a big blow from the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. The government is calling upon citizens to take the opportunity to get back to their feet and avoid incidents that will lead to tragedy.
Kenyans have reacted with many saying that it won't reduce the spread of the virus and instead the government should just allow citizens to access the bars and restaurants at any given time.
