
The funeral mass for the senior Inspector General of Police Charlton Murithi is underway in Meru County. Murithi died on Friday August 19th.
At the time of his death Murithi was a director of Kenya National Focal Point on Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons, which is under the office of President but being run by the police. Therefore until his death Murithi was a senior police officer in the country. 
He has been a senior Assistant Inspector General of Police, a rank below the deputy Inspector General of Police. However his job is counted as one of the top most in the police service.
He had also served as the director of internal affairs unit, commander of traffic operation, provincial police officer in the Northeast among other directorate at the police. Before his death, Murithi had been battling with cancer complications. May his soul rest in peace.
