Climatic change is a burden to every living creature that lives on earth. One of the major contributing factors leading to the adverse climatic effects is human activities.
Activities such as mining, deforestation, industrial revolution, among others have greatly tampered with the normal functioning of the ecosystem. Effects such as floodings, droughts, melting of the ice at the polar regions, eruption of the forest fires e.t.c, are evident results of the effects of human activities.
A farmer in Ahero, Kisumu county is counting losses after his chicks were killed by the floods on Saturday night. The farmer said that the heavy rains fell when he was asleep only to wake up in the morning to find his three hundred chicks dead.
"I was surprised when I went to check on my chicks. I got shocked by the sudden death of my three hundred chicks that were drowned by the floods that came as a result of the heavy rains that fell last night," the farmer said adding that the chicks were two months old.
The weather man however, still sound a warning on the upcoming rains that may cause further havoc. They therefore encourage the citizens to take further precautions even as the farmers use the rain waters in their farming.
