Inhabitants of Kiminini Sub County's Mbayi hamlet are in disbelief after a 38-year-old father is accused of defiling and killing his 8-year-old daughter.
The girl's carcass was discovered in a bush close to the River Kiminini.
John Onditi, the deputy commander of police for Kiminini, affirmed the occurrence and said that the culprit, 38-year-old Emmanuel Juma, arrived home after dark and discovered his family sleeping.
In Mbai A, Kiminini sub-county, he claimed the perpetrator went to where his daughter sleeps, woke her up, and brought her to a bush next to a river.
He is alleged to have undressed her and then defiled her there.
According to the police chief, the man acknowledged strangling the child.
According to Onditi, Florence Simiyu, the suspect's wife, was rudely startled when she learned her daughter and the father were not home.
He said: "She informed her neighbors, who went with her to her husband's workplace, only to discover that her daughter had been murdered."
Villagers were outraged by the occurrence and yelled for the blood of the perpetrator.
The defendant was apprehended and transferred to the Kiminini Police Station to await arraignment thanks to the fast response of police officers who rushed on the spot.
The deceased's remains were transported to Kiminini Cottage Hospital in anticipation of an analysis.
Locals in the area, led by Joshua Amwayi, a Kiminini ward representative, denounced the murder of the child.
"Everyone in Kiminini is shocked by the minor's desecration and murder." "The defenseless 8-year-old girl shouldn't have experienced this," the ward representative stated.
