Love, lies and murder: The incredible story of Steven Kanumba

Steven Charles Kanumba was a Tanzanian actor and director. Kanumba died in 2012 at the age of 28, for which actress Elizabeth Michael was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced two years in prison in November 2017.

Steve died from a brain concussion. This is a brain injury caused by a blow to the head or a violent shaking of the head and body. It occurs from a mild blow to the head, either with or without loss of consciousness, and can lead to temporary cognitive symptoms.

Elizabeth Michael famously known as Lulu admitted to have pushed Kanumba during an argument in their home leading to his death. She claimed that he was drunk and physically abusing her at the time if the incident. The judge ruled that even though she was underage, she was behaving as an adult and therefore had to be sentenced to two years in jail.
