Incidents of Gender Based Violence have been on the rise in the country with the government urging people to seek help as this is the only way that help end the abuse that many are going through.
The abusers are also called to seek proffesional help as well to heal from the anger that many feel which leads to these fights that sometimes causes deaths of people.
Agnes Tirop, a world champion athlete was killed by her husband who had been abusing her for a long time in a gruesome manner.
Another athlete, Muthee, was also killed in Iten a few weeks ago by her Ethiopian boyfriend at his place and he has not been arrested since.
This morning, according to Daily Nation Newspaper, another athlete who has refused to share her identity, has disclosed that she is a victim of domestic abuse by her boyfriend.
Sarah, says that she met the boyfriend in 2015 as she had just finished high school and went to Iten to train as an athlete and hopefully make it in life.
However, this did not pan out as she expected as after meeting her boyfriend, they started living together on Iten Town though she did not disclose if he is an athlete as well.
After she got pregnant, she found out that he had been seeing other women behind her back and after confronting him, he rained blows and kicks on her till she lost the baby.
She has since gone back to her family but the man still monitors her movements and tells her never to get involved with another man.
