Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc in Uasin Gishu County, particularly affecting areas in Eldoret town
Sources on Thursday evening said the heavy downfall has left parts of the county in a blackout after power cables and transformers were destroyed.
Areas along the Eldoret-Kapsabet Road are said to have been greatly been affected by the rain.
"Heavy rainfall experienced in Eldoret has left some parts of the town with power blackout after electricity poles fell down and cables cut from the grid. One of the affected areas is a section of Eldoret-Kapsabet Road near Brookside," the sources said via a post on social media.
The heavy downfall comes a few days after the weatherman warned Kenyans of heavy rainfall in the Rift Valley region and other parts of the country.
The weatherman said the expected rains could cause flooding and asked Kenyans to be aware of the danger that comes along with flooding.
