A sombre mood engulfed the residents of Kiandugira village in the Kigumo area of Murang'a county after the body of an old woman was found dumped in a bush.
Confirming the incident, the family members of the 90-year-old woman identified as Mary Njeri said that she went missing on Thursday 29th September 2021. Her whereabouts remained at large until Sunday evening on 2nd October 2022 when her motionless body was discovered decomposing in a thicket. According to a family member identified as Agnes Njoki, her relative went to the farm where she was working on her crops but unfortunately did not make her way back home.
As darkness fell, the family members got worried and were forced to search her manually, despite their thorough search, their efforts proved futile. After a fruitless couple of days of searching, the family got a ride shock that their kin had been killed and body dumped. Her body was full of injuries, some parts showing that she had been raped before her body was dumped without clothes on.
