Mass Transfer Of Police Officers In Nairobi County As Government Make Key Changes

The police sector has within Nairobi County as experienced mass transfer of top police officers in a move aimed to streamline the law and order arm of the Government.

According to reports, Close to 100 police officers based in Nairobi County mainly Kamukunji, Huruma, and Central police stations have been redeployed to other counties with the Officers Commanding Stations (OCS) Kamukunji and Central among those affected.

According to the transfer orders, the Deputy Inspector General had approved the deployment of the police officers to other counties with OCSs also directed to release the officers on time so that they can report to their new stations by November 29, 2021.

The Central OCS was further directed to release Police Constable Abdi Samid Ibrahim as he was expected to report to Mombasa for duty immediately.

"Release the officers to report to their new stations by 29th November 2021. Submit casualty returns on departure and arrival," the letter read in part.

The transferred cops will be replaced by officers from counties such as Bomet, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Taita Taveta, Kisii, Kisumu and Bungoma.
