The DCI said that the duo had already collected one million from a target they had swindled. They are said to have posed as agents of a Congo based gold baron.

They had shown one gold investor dust from the crushed padlocks and the buyer was told to make pay through two different numbers which had being registered using different stolen identification numbers. He fell for the trick and paid and before long he contacted the police on the incident. They were traced down and found in a hideout in Uthiru kiambu were hundreds of id numbers and numbers were found.

They were arraigned in court yesterday and the court allowed the detectives to complete investigations while keeping them in custody.
