The detectives from the homicide department of DCI have recovered a CCTV footage from the slain athlete's foot home. They believe that the footage will help then unravel the motive and how the murder went down. They also added that investigations are ongoing and they have a major suspect who is Agnes Tirop's lover Ibrahim Rotich. They believe that he will help then with vital information in connecting dots to catch the murderer.[Photo Courtesy]
They however did not reveal or expose the footage to anyone until they finish their investigations. One friend of Agnes Tirop who is also a marathoner recalls how they used to encourage each other. They had dreams and they believed that everything was possible under the sun.
She added that despite the fact that Tirop used to participate in 10km race, she had ambitions to be featured in the long marathons in future. Her dreams are now shuttered because of a single person with negative motives. Tirop was still energetic and may be in future she would have represented Kenya in Olympics again.
The autopsy and funeral arrangements are expected to be contacted next week. Her fellow athletes had arranged that they will go and mourn their colleague but now they postponed their visit to a later dates. On the other hand Tirop's husband is being interrogated by DCI at Changamwe police station as he awaits to be arraigned in court and answer murder charges.
