A herdsboy is said to be looking after his animals when he discovered the body of the deceased and notified the police.
According to Witu area chief Sali Ali, the teacher was reported missing on July 23,2021, only her body to be discovered at around 11am on Monday morning.
The surprised administrator said a search for the deceased has been going on after a missing person report was filed at Lamu West town police station.
Lamu West Sub-County Police commander Maria Salim who confirmed the discovery said preliminary investigations revealed that the late teacher was raped and killed.
The police chief added that the decomposing body had no stabbed wounds apart from its private parts which had some rushes and blood clots.
The body of the deceased was moved to Bahari town hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Police have launched investigations into the alleged crime incident.
